Great to have Herschel on the show this morning. Although, as a Notre Dame alum it’s still painful to think of him and the 1981 Sugar Bowl! Happened long before I was a student, but even as a kid we followed the Irish (my Dad is an N.D. grad too). Herschel’s book is a good read and certain to draw more attention to D.I.D.

I met Herschel on two different occasions and I have to tell you he was a gentleman and a professional in every respect of the words. I always thought he was a gentleman on the field as well and I have to say, if I might, he was a dynamite player. My hat’s off to you, Herschel and may the LORD bless you in your future life.
