High End Foreclosures On the Rise

So you need six bathrooms? You need a home theater with its own concession stand? Have we got a deal for you! It’s a $1.5 Million house in Southlake that was listed at two million just one year ago. Now in foreclosure, it may be the right price for someone who can afford it.
Of the houses we saw while shooting our story, I can’t say I had a favorite. Each one had it’s own cool features. Loved the little negative edge pool in the backyard of the Southlake house. The walk-in closet in the $900,000 Trophy Club house had cathedral ceilings. It felt bigger than most living rooms. And the golf course location on the purple-colored house in Desoto was very cool (not a big fan of the purple, though). We’ve got a slideshow and more info on the properties on our homepage: http://www.nbc5i.com/slideshow/news/16088920/detail.html
The flip side of this story of course is that it’s very sad to see families lose their homes in any income bracket. Or, to see builders lose homes to banks because of a market that’s gone bust. As one realtor we talked to said, it’s evidence that poor money management sadly spans all income levels.
